Charleston airport expecting 15,000 passengers per day during holiday travel weekend

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston International Airport issued a parking alert Wednesday afternoon for travelers flying out of town for Thanksgiving.

Officials say the surface lot is full and they have put out signs redirecting traffic.

Instead, travelers are being asked to try parking in the deck or the remote parking lot. The remote lot offers a free shuttle to take you to the airport terminal.

The crowd of holiday weekend travelers is descending on the airport just as it has  celebrated the completion of renovations.

The next project on the list is another parking deck.

Wednesday airport officials advised passengers to arrive two hours before your flight so you have plenty of time to figure out parking and get through security lines.
