SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Summerville police are searching for the driver who struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene early Thanksgiving morning.

The victim, Brett Farmer, 23, of Summerville, died of his injuries Thursday afternoon, according to Lt. Nick Santanna.

Authorities say the accident happened just past the Country Inn and Suites and the entrance to Azalea Square on Holiday Drive.

Friday morning Santanna said Farmer was walking home from work when he was hit.

The driver that struck Farmer left the scene and police do not, as yet, have any vehicle information. Santanna says the vehicle involved should have front-end damage.

The roadway was closed following the accident and reopened around 2 a.m.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact Summerville Police at 843-875-1650 or CrimeStoppers at 843-554-1111.
