Crowds of shoppers take advantage of early Black Friday deals

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Black Friday shoppers hit the sales early this year, with some starting at 6 Thursday evening.

Shoppers said they wait all year for these sales, and plan their Thanksgiving meals early to be sure and get it on the good deals.

"Ate some turkey at one o'clock so we could catch some good deals," Jacob Exline said. "You got stores that are starting to open a little bit earlier so you gotta beat the crowds, if you don't jump on the opportunity you might not get what you want."

Shoppers said early Black Friday shopping is a family tradition.

"Probably seven or eight years, we drug my daughter out when she was small and she enjoyed it," Craig
Harvey said.

"Ten years, really, but usually it's Friday morning we go out instead of thanksgiving," Stephanie Pauley said.

However some shoppers said this year would be the first Black Friday outing, and their last.

"I usually try to avoid black Friday sales. It's always been my theory not to come out. So we came at 6 o clock right when it started . We were able to go in certain stores, get in and get out and now it's crazy. So no I don't do this as a norm and I probably won't be back again," Janet Bess said.

The deals will continue from Thanksgiving evening until Black Friday night.
