Man arrested in connection with early Sunday morning homicide at Chester Place Apartments

A man has been arrested in connection with an early Sunday morning homicide in North Charleston.

Marquis Desaussure, 28, has been arrested in connection with the death of his brother.

Tre Desaussure, 24, died on scene as a result of a gunshot wound, Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton said.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the parking lot area of 4747 Lambs Road where a resident discovered the body of a man behind a vehicle next to a wooden privacy fence, police say.

The victim was pronounced deceased from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, according to police.

Police say an altercation took place between the brothers at which time Marquis Desaussure produced a firearm and shot his brother and fled the scene, police say.

Marquis Desaussure and his vehicle were located in the area of Pine Crest Apartments, police say.

Marquis Desaussure has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The North Charleston Police Department is still investigating this homicide.
