GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

Berkeley County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday night the additional arrests in connection with a homicide that occurred on Pineshadow Drive that happened on Nov. 29. So far four people have been charged.

On Friday, detectives with the Berkeley County Sheriffs Office obtained a murder warrant for Tracy Renard Grant.

Berkeley County Detectives and Members of the U.S. Marshals task force, while doing further follow up interviews on the shooting, observed Grant's vehicle traveling on Harbour Lake Drive.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in an attempt to locate Tracy Renard Grant.  The vehicle was being driven by Deandre Rivers, who refused to cooperate with authorities, deputies say.

Rivers was found to be in possession of approximately 100 grams of marijuana, $1,500.00 in U.S. currency, as well as approx 1.2 grams of a substance that tested presumptively to be cocaine, deputies say.

Deputies said that Rivers was found to currently be out on bond for drug charges as well as currently being on probation for other drug charges. Rivers was arrested and booked on the charges of Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute, Possession with intent to Distribute within 1/2 mile prox of a School and Possession of Cocaine 2nd Offense. Probation & Parole was notified of Rivers' arrest for their review, according to reports.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, Berkeley County Deputies, U.S Marshals and North Charleston Police located Tracy Grant sleeping in a vehicle at 2805 Rex Avenue, in North Charleston, deputies said. The vehicle was registered to the home address of Rivers, who was arrested earlier in Grant's vehicle.  Grant was taken into custody without incident, according to deputies.

Grant was transported to the Hill-Finklea detention center and booked on his outstanding warrant for murder.

Also in connection with the same case, Christopher Eugine Smith III is was arrested, on Nov. 30, for murder and weapons violations, according to Berkeley County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Mike Cochran. Authorities have not yet released specifics of the charges.

A deputy was on patrol on Pineshadow drive on Nov. 29, when he heard multiple gunshots, Cochran said. The deputy saw a silver Chevrolet Malibu back out of a space without its lights on and speed off, passing the deputy’s marked cruiser.

Cochran said the deputy made a traffic stop on the vehicle and the passenger exited the vehicle and was detained. The deputy found the female driver and a male passenger suffering from gunshot wounds.

The passenger, 20-year-old Nicholas Bradley Valentine, died at the scene, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover, Cochran said.

The passenger who had been detained, Jonnell Harris, 21, is being charged with discharging a firearm into a building, Cochran said.

Smith had been arrested Nov. 16 for three cases of weapon violations and drug violations and was on probation at the time of the shooting, Cochran said. He later bonded out on a total of $90,000 surety bond.
