RIDGEVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

The man killed Thursday in a crash between a tow truck and a service vehicle in Ridgeville has been identified.

Michael Brandon Perry II, 22, was a passenger in the flatbed service truck when it collided with a rollback wrecker, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said. Perry was pronounced dead on the scene, Salisbury said.

Four others, two from each vehicle, were also injured and transported to an area hospital.

The Highway Patrol says the collision happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 176 and Mudville Road.

A rollback tow truck was traveling east on Highway 176 and a GMC service truck was headed south on Mudville road when the service truck driver disregarded a stop sign and was struck by the towing vehicle, Cpl. Sonny Collins said.

Salisbury said Perry's death was ruled accidental and he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The collision is still being investigated by the Highway Patrol, Collins said.

Salisbury said Perry's death is the 39th traffic fatality in Berkeley County in 2016.
