Warming shelters open Thursday night

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County officials say warming shelters will be open Thursday night in the Lowcountry due to temperatures expected to be below freezing.

The county's emergency preparedness division announced where the warming centers will be located.

Dinner will be provided as well as a bed for the evening and breakfast for the morning.

Listed are the warming shelters and the times they will be open.

Goose Creek

  • United Methodist Church:  7 p.m.


  • Ridge Baptist Church: 7 p.m.
  • Fresh Anointing Ministries: 7 p.m.

If there are any questions or anyone wanting to volunteer at the Fresh Anointing Ministries, officials say to contact Terry or Turner at 843-771-4778.

Anyone with any other questions about the warming centers should call the Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness Department at 843-719-4366.
