SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The deadline for the removal of debris left by Hurricane Matthew's pass over the Lowcountry in October is approaching.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation set a completion deadline of Jan. 5 for all debris removal, according to a post on Dorchester County's Facebook page.
County officials say the contractor is still working to remove brush from state and county roads and neighborhoods.
Residents in the county were required to have brush at their curbs by Dec. 5.
Residents are asked to call the SCDOT at 843-563-3451 to report debris that has not yet been removed. County officials warn freshly-cut brush will not be picked up at this point.
