Burbank, CA (WCSC) - "Like somthin' is brewin and about to begin", the famous line by Dick Van Dyke's character Bert from the 1964 original "Mary Poppins" movie fully describes the excitement of Disney fans all over.

Disney released its first photo via twitter Friday of Mary standing in front of what looks to be the very familiar Banks' classic home on Cherry Tree Lane.

The photo is stunning of actress Emily Blunt who will be portraying Julie Andrew's iconic character. From her shoes to her hat the new costume is practically perfect in every way. No signs yet of the well-known umbrella that Poppins carried in the original film, but knowing Disney they won't disappoint their fans.

The new adaption of the film isn't going to be a remake like the other new Disney movies, but a continuation of the original story. The new story picks up in Depression-era London about two decades after the events of the 1964 film; to the adventures of Poppins and the Banks children Jane and Michael, who are all grown up now.

The costumes for "Mary Poppins Returns" have been designed by Sandy Powell, according to Disney, who also designed the costumes for the live-action retelling of "Cinderella" that came out in 2015.

Dick Van Dyke has also been confirmed to be joining the new cast, according to Disney's website. No word as to which character he will be playing just yet, but it will be a nice addition to the new film.

"Mary Poppins Returns" is being directed by Rob Marshall and is set for release December 25, 2018.

It is safe to say a countdown begins now!
