CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Hundreds are expected to visit a West Ashley church Saturday to select the perfect prom dress.
The Cinderella Project is hosting a free boutique at John Wesley United Methodist Church at 626 Savannah Highway in West Ashley from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The organization is a non-profit that helps match the perfect prom dress and accessories to the student who otherwise could not afford them.
This is the 16th year for the event, organizers say.
Throughout the year, the organization collects donations of new and gently-used formal dresses, gowns, purses, jewelry, shawls, shoes and accessories. The Charleston Cinderella Project runs entirely on donations and is organized by area volunteers over several months.
