CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - One lane of St. Philip Street between Wentworth Street and Beaufain Street is closed due to a previously collapsed building, according to police.
The west sidewalk is also closed in that area.
Police say the lane and sidewalk is closed due to a safety issue.
On March 2, a roof collapsed in a vacant building on St. Phillips Street behind Memminger Elementary. Charleston fire officials said the building was built in the 1950s, but has been abandoned for several years now.
