Victim in Feb. Dorchester Manor shooting dies

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A victim that was shot back on Feb. 21 has died as a result of his injuries.

Jaquan Jones, 21, died Saturday evening at Trident Regional Medical Center, according to the Dorchester County Coroner's Office.

Jones was one of two people that were shot a few weeks ago at Dorchester Manor.

Deputies responded to Pine Grove Drive around 11:45 a.m. Feb. 21to find a 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

Lakedren Thompson, 20, of North Charleston, was originally charged with three counts of attempted murder, one count of armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to Dorchester County Sheriff's Maj. Tony Phinney.

The incident is still under investigation.

    Charleston police are asking for the public's help to find a missing teenager.  Keyonna Latriece Felder, 16, was last seen at 1385 Ashley River Road in Apartment C on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. She was last seen by her mother on Sept. 11.

    The Army Corps of Engineers has given the go-ahead for the planned expansion of Joe Riley Waterfront Park. DHEC and the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management had already issued the state permits in May.
