Northeast blizzard grounds dozens of flights at Charleston's airport

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Some Charleston air travelers will face canceled flights as a blizzard blankets the northeast.

As of Tuesday morning, 34 flights in and out of Charleston to destinations that include New York, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Baltimore have been canceled.

More than 5,100 flights have been canceled nationwide, according to FlightStats.com.

The majority of the grounded flights are out of Newark Airport in New Jersey and LaGuardia and JFK Airports in New York City.

If you are flying out of Charleston or expecting loved ones to arrive, check with the airline to make sure those flights have not been delayed or canceled.
