Demos, training, grooming and more at annual Charleston County Pet Fest

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Parks is ready to help pamper your pets at a two-day festival devoted to four-legged friends.

Pet Fest 2017 is Saturday and Sunday at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant. Pet-related business and rescue groups will showcase their products, services, and adoptable animals from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Some of the highlights include pet contests, a dog washing station, a "Meet the Breed" dog show on Sunday, STARR (Search, Tactics, And Rescue/Recovery) Team demonstrations, live music, and activities for kids. Veterinarians, groomers, and trainers will also have stations set up.

Pets can compete for best trick, owner look-alike, best dog costume and others. Lowcountry Dog Magazine will also have a cover model contest. Dogs can also test their Frisbee or agility skills for a $10 donation.
 
Admission is $8 for adults and children 12 and younger are free. Discounted admission is also available for $5 per person with a donation of pet food or pet supplies. For more information on events and a detailed schedule, click here.
