WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

A 44-year-old man who escaped from the county's detention center Wednesday morning was recaptured in Summerville.

According to CCSO officials, Alvin Walling was tracked down by deputies at a home on Louise Drive.

Deputies also found the stolen vehicle that Walling reportedly used during his escape.

"Officers were able to secure the premises and made entry into the residence finding Walling in a rear room," CCSO officials said.

The suspect was captured without incident.

Sheriff R.A Strickland said,"I would like to thank Sheriff LC Knight of the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and his deputies for working along with our office to be able to capture this individual."

Walling will be transported back to the Colleton County Detention Center and will face additional charges of escape and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Deputies say Walling was working in the sally port of the detention center at the time he disappeared, according to an incident report.

Walling then stole a dark gray 013 Toyota Tacoma that had been parked near the detention center, according to Colleton County Sheriff's Capt. Shane Roberts.

Shortly after he went missing, deputies were notified by the desk officer that her truck was missing.
