NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities are searching for a suspect who exchanged gunfire with a restaurant employee during an armed robbery at a North Charleston restaurant.

It happened on the night of March 10 at Luz's Restaurant on 1936 Remount Road.

The victim told police said that two men entered the store and asked for change for a $50 bill.

A report states when the employee got the money out, one of the men who was wearing a winter hat took out a gun from the front of his pants and demanded money.

"A shooting ensued between the armed robber and the victim inside the business (no one injured)," NCPD officials said.

Police said the suspects fled the business through the front door towards Remount Road.

"North Charleston Crime Scene recovered several shell casings on scene," police said.

Authorities released pictures of the suspect on Wednesday.
