NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A Garrett High School student is facing charges after bringing a loaded gun on campus, authorities say.
According to an incident report, the Garrett High was placed on lockdown around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday when officials were told 17-year-old Jeremy Flowers was wanted for questioning and possibly had a gun on his person.
The school was placed on code yellow lockdown as an officer and school official looked for the student. According to the incident report, Flowers was soon put into handcuffs and detained.
Officers found a loaded, stolen Glock in Flowers' blue backpack, the incident report states.
The teen was taken into custody by the North Charleston Police Department and remains at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. The incident report states he was suspended from school for five days pending a disciplinary board hearing.
