SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A judge denied bond for a man accused of being involved in a hostage situation at a business in Summerville Friday afternoon.

Wesley Heatherly, 37, appeared in bound court Saturday morning, where he was denied bond for his kidnapping charge.

Additionally, a $200,000 bond was set for a domestic violence of a high and aggressive nature charge, and a $100,000 bond was set for a commission of a weapon in a violent crime charge.

On Friday at approximately 1:09 p.m., officers with the Summerville Police Department responded to a call of a man with a gun who was pointing it at a female at 318 N. Cedar Street.

When officers arrived they reported that 37-year-old Wesley Ford Heatherly called police and told them he had a gun while he was barricaded in a room inside the business.

Officers then set up a perimeter and hostage negotiations began.

Friday evening, Summerville police officers and SWAT were seen taking Heatherly into custody in the area of Carnival Cuts.

Heatherly is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
