Colleton County High School has hired a new head football coach and athletic director the school district announced on Tuesday. Coby Peeler, who last served as an assistant coach at Greer High School will lead the Cougars on the field while Leon Hammond takes over as the schools new AD.
Both take over for former AD/head football coach Chris Collins who was let go last year after being placed on administrative leave during the season.
Peeler, who played collegiately at Clemson in the mid-90's, has been an assistant coach at various high schools throughout the state over the past two decades.
Hammond, who is currently a PE teacher at Colleton, has worked as a coach in football, basketball and track over his career.
Both positions will become effective on July 1st.
