City of North Charleston police need the public's help in locating a suspect who ran from them, and hit a pedestrian.
Shortly before Noon on Saturday, officers attempted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger at McMillan Avenue and Rivers Avenue.
The vehicle failed to stop and continued to Rivers Avenue and Gullah Avenue, police say.
The driver cut through the parking lot of the L&S Supermarket and struck a pedestrian.
The vehicle continued to Whipper Barony Lane and Rhett Park Drive where the suspect fled on foot towards the Whipper Barony neighborhood.
The pedestrian that was hit was transported to MUSC for treatment.
Officers say they located illegal narcotics and firearms inside of the vehicle.
Witnesses reported seeing a heavy police presence and a helicopter in the air.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
