Investigators say there is no foul play suspected after a decomposed body was found under a house near Walterboro on Sunday.

The Colleton County Coroner's Office says the body has been identified as 58-year-old Michael Riedel.

Authorities say a driver's license indicates that Riedel liveed on the 7000 block of Pleasant Grove Road in Round O where his body was found.

According to the coroner's office, Riedel had a significant medical history, and his cause of death is pending.

A homeowner alerted authorities to the body found under a home.

Deputies say the owner of an unoccupied home called 911 after she discovered some of the weatherproofing on the rear of the home had been removed and then spotted what appeared to be a pair of shoes.

Upon taking a closer look, she realized the shoes were on a body lying in a sleeping bag, the report states.

The body was badly decomposed and had been at the house for quite some time.

The homeowner had returned to the home to retrieve a ladder when she made the discovery, the report states.

She told deputies she had not lived there since 2011.
