Man arrested after 3 wounded in James Island shooting, altercation

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies are investigating a shooting on James Island that injured three people.

Jerod Teriel Frazier, 30, of Balsalm Street, was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Frazier was identified as being involved in the shooting that occurred on Lemontree Lane.

Deputies responded shortly after 1 p.m. Friday to the 1100 block of Lemontree Lane to investigate a reported shooting, according to Charleston Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson.

Witnesses told deputies some type of altercation began among a group of men standing on Lemontree Lane. Gunshots were exchanged between the men, witnesses said.

Watson said all three victims suffered leg wounds, Each was transported to MUSC.

The motive of the shooting is not known, Watson said.

Frazier's bond hearing is scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 a.m. He is currently being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.

A block of Camp Road at Lemontree Lane was blocked off by police tape. A pair of blood-stained pants and boots could be seen on the ground where the incident occurred.
