MONCKS CORNER, SC - Are you missing a trailer?

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office say they investigated a report from a trailer theft victim who called in to report that he thought that he saw his stolen trailer.

Deputies responded to the driveway in front of a home on Albert Storm Avenue in Moncks Corner.

Deputies found the victim's white enclosed trailer that was in the process of having any unique identifiable ground off with a grinder, they say. Next to the trailer was a grinder, the VIN plate and other tools.

Detectives responded and a search warrant was obtained.

There were 9 trailers in total including a U-Haul trailer that had been painted. Deputies say this is important, because U-Haul does not sell their trailers.

When deputies made contact with the resident who was working on the trailer, James Brian Marrale Jr., was found to have a bench warrant for theft out of Goose Creek.

The search warrant resulted in the location of multiple items that the suspect was unable to show where they came from.

James Brian Marrale Jr., 34, who lives at the recovery location, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods over $2,000 but under $10,000 and Receiving Stolen Goods or Chop Shop.

Marrale's bonds were set at $10,000 and $30,000 surety for the charges.

If you recognize a trailer in these photos, you are asked to contact Detective Bealer at (843) 719-4320.
