Police in Folly Beach have arrested and charged a man with impersonating a police officer.

David Stanley Hubbard, 58, was detained late Saturday night and booked early Sunday morning.

Hubbard was operating as an Uber driver when he identified himself to passengers as a U.S. Marshal.

Within Hubbard's vehicle was a siren, a plug-in blue and red box, and a 9mm Beretta that was hidden underneath the driver seat, police say.

Hubbard appeared in bond court later Sunday morning where the judge set a $75,000 bond for impersonating law-enforcement and a $25,000 bond for unlawful possession of a firearm. An addition $4,300 was added for the multiple tickets from the Folly Beach Police Department.
