NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - The Sears location at Northwoods Mall is closing down.
A representative of Seritage Growth Properties, the owners of the Sears site, says they are terminating their lease with the department store and have plans to redevelop the location.
It is not known when the store will close.
Sears merged with Kmart in 2005 but has continued to struggle financially. CBS reports the company's stock market shares have lost more than 95 percent of their value over the past 10 years.
The Seritage Growth Properties website says the North Charleston property is 55,560 square feet with a 20,870 square foot auto center.
