Charleston Southern freshman first baseman Aaron Miller was named the Come Ready Nutrition Big South Freshman of the Week after leading the Buccaneers' offense to a 2-2 record on the week and the series win over UNC Asheville.
Miller had a game for the ages on Saturday afternoon as the freshman first baseman connected on a pair of home runs, scored four times, and drove in eight RBI in CSU's 19-3 win over UNC Asheville.
He opened the game driving in the first run of the contest with an RBI single to give CSU the early lead. Miller broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the second with a three-run home run, his first of the season. In the sixth, he connected on CSU's first grand slam of the contest clearing the bases to give the Bucs the 10-3 advantage in their eventual 19-3 win.
Miller finished the week with a team-high eight RBI and five runs scored.
Presbyterian College junior first baseman AJ Priaulx has been named the Big South Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Hayden Deal has been named the Pitcher of the Week for games played April 3-9, it was announced today by the Conference office.
