CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Medical University of South Carolina hosted its ninth annual Earth Day celebration at the Horseshoe Wednesday.
The free event featured food trucks, door prizes, artists, farmers and more. MUSC leaders say the celebration is a way to teach people about the connection between environmental health and human health.
"Earth Day is an annual event around the globe to celebrate the earth and try and keep our environment clean and here at MUSC we use it as a chance to promote the values of sustainability and building healthy communities," MUSC Sustainability and Recycling Program spokesman John Brooker said.
Earth Day this year falls on April 22.
