NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a 33-year-old North Charleston man charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
James Carlton Wallace was arrested Wednesday, according to jail records. A judge set bond at a total of $20,000 for the charges.
An incident report states police met on Jan. 7 with a woman who claimed she had discovered her two children in a sexual position. When she asked them about what they were doing, she says they responded that Wallace had "touched them in their private areas" while they were at his home, the report states.
The older child claimed the man had spread the boy's buttocks, but neither child mentioned any penetration, the report states.
The woman took the children to MUSC for a medical examination and said the children had not been at the man's home since November, when the event allegedly occurred, the report states.
The woman told police other children were at the home at the time of the alleged incident and said two of them also went to MUSC, but she was unable to identify the children or their mother, the report states.
Police say Wallace surrendered to authorities Wednesday on the outstanding warrants, the report states.
He was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
