NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are searching for suspects after a shooting injured two teenagers in North Charleston Monday afternoon.
North Charleston police say shortly after 4 p.m. officers responded to Mott Avenue in reference to a shooting victim.
Officers said they learned that a 17 and 18 year old were walking in the area of Cosgrove Avenue and Azalea Road when shots were fired.
"Both victims were struck in the leg area and ran to a residence on Mott Avenue," NCPD officials said.
Both of the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to an NCPD report, a witness reported seeing two male suspects running from the area after the shots were fired.
Police are continuing the investigation.
Investigators were spotted in the area of the 2000 block of Mott Avenue near Cosgrove Avenue.
Officers were seen going into a home and collecting evidence from the residence.
Dispatch officials said the initial call was a report of shots fired.
Authorities had closed a portion of the road as police work the scene.
The road has since been reopened.
In addition to police, EMS units responded.
