CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. said the time is "always" right to do "what" is right.
That's especially true now as this is National Volunteer Week. Here in the U.S., it started with President H.W. Bush's famous "Thousand Points of Light" speech in 1991.
Whether big or small, it doesn't matter. It's what's in the heart: a helping hand to the elderly with groceries, picking up the neighbor's mail when they're on vacation, giving our time to Habitat For Humanity or the Trident United Way.
It's your choice.
Volunteering comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms.
I hope we'll all find a little time from our busy schedules this week and volunteer. Service unites us all. It inspires others and creates change.
