NORTH CHARLESTON - (WCSC) - A multimillion dollar investment is coming to North Charleston as the city welcomes logistics company Mid-States Packaging, which will launch new operations in Charleston county.
"We are sincerely grateful for Mid-States Packaging investing in our city, bringing jobs and a sizable capital investment that will have a great benefit to our community," North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said. "This commitment tells us that North Charleston continues to be a business-friendly city with a workforce capable of meeting the demands of a 21st century economy."
The full-service logistics and warehouse provider is investing $5.2 million and 30 jobs as part of its North Charleston location. Mid-States, which offers a range of services from transportation and logistics to packaging and rail services, is set to operate out of an existing warehouse facility on 4500 Goer Drive in North Charleston.
"Mid-States Packaging is so excited to be opening up in North Charleston, South Carolina," Mid-States Packaging Co-Owner Tracy Giroux-Harpin said. "We know this fantastic location is a perfect fit for our growing company."
The company currently operates in seven other states and received job development credits for the project, according to a release from S.C. Governor Henry McMaster's office.
Hiring for the North Charleston facility is expected to begin later this year; interested applicants should contact BSidilau@MSPack.com
