CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Roper St. Francis invites you to have lunch, dinner or both with legendary movie and TV star Pam Grier Thursday.
Grier is the spokesperson for Dining Out For Life, which benefits the Ryan White Wellness Center. As spokesperson, Grier hopes to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention.
More than 35 local restaurants and food trucks are participating at the food truck festival at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Over the last six years, local restaurants have been able to raise more than $110,000 for the cause, according to a news release from Roper St. Francis.
Grier will make public appearances at the festival, as well as at Santi's downtown at 6 p.m.

Grier has a long career in acting.
She was the first African-American woman to headline action films. She portrayed bold, powerful women in Coffy, Sheba Baby, Friday Foster and Foxy Brown.
She rekindled her superhero appeal with hits such as Jackie Brown and the popular television series The L Word, and is currently working on other projects.
2017 marks Grier's seventh year serving as a spokesperson for Dining Out For Life.
