Live 5 Investigates: In-Home Daycares

When parents are trying to decide what type of child care to use, there are many factors to consider. Many families prefer the benefits of in-home daycare, where a caretaker can give more individual attention.

In-home daycare workers should register with the state and can be paid to keep up to six children in their home. However, Live 5 Investigated and found out over 70% of local home daycare facilities are breaking the law when it comes to required training and there's no way to shut them down.

After a 3-month-old dies at the hands of an in-home daycare, Live 5 News' Carter Coyle investigates what you need to know before you leave your child in the hands of in-home care. Is the state is making sure workers are completing the required training? Tonight at 11 p.m.
