Lowcountry convenience center closed after fire

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A Beaufort County Convenience Center is closed after a fire destroyed the attendant’s office.

The building at the Sheldon Convenience Center on Johnson Road was burned in a fire Thursday night.

The Beaufort County Public Works Department Solid Waste and Recycling Division closed the center until further notice.  In the meantime, residents can use the nearby convenience centers at 63 Big Estate Road, 6 Keans Neck Road or 80 Shanklin Road.
