Victim in fatal Berkeley County motorcycle accident identified

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The man who died in a Berkeley County motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon has been identified.

James Jackson, 64, of Bonneau, died in the accident, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

The crash happened on Ranger Drive in Cross at approximately 2:20 p.m. where the motorcycle ran off the roadway and hit a tree, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said. 

Jackson was transported to Trident Hospital where he died from his injuries, Jones said.

A passenger was also transported to the hospital, but the nature of his injuries was not released.

The coroner said both were wearing helmets.
