'Mirena fail!' Newborn holding IUD becomes internet star

"Mirena fail!" That is how newborn Dexter Tyler was introduced to the world.

His first photo shows him holding his mom's IUD birth control in his little hand, and the internet fell in love with it.

Lucy Hellein, of Alabama, posted the photo to Facebook on April 28, one day after Dexter was born.

Hellein said Dexter was delivered by cesarean section. After his birth, medical staff found Hellein's Mirena IUD behind her placenta.

That's when they placed the IUD in Dexter's hand for a little photo-op, according to Hellein.

The photo was shared tens of thousands of times before Hellein either removed the photo or changed the privacy settings on her Facebook page.
