CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County held a press conference Saturday on Hurricane Irma preparation.
Charleston County Emergency officials said that "Charleston County and community stand ready to go."
Both Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and North Charleston Mayor Kieth Summey referenced the potential impact Irma can cause to Charleston.
"There is still concern about the storm and the impact on Charleston. We still need to be prepared for what may come," Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg said.
"If there is flooding there will be shelters, but that notice will come later if that happens," North Charleston Mayor Kieth Summey added.
Hurricane Irma is forecast to reach the Florida Keys Sunday morning.
