CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Police officers from around the Lowcountry will be getting out of their cruisers and into restaurants Friday to help raise money for charity.

Law enforcement will be at Chick-Fil-A locations in Summerville, Goose Creek and Mount Pleasant (Oakland Market) as part of an event called "Cops on the Coop". They are collecting donations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  for Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.

It's all part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and includes rooftop sits, tip-a-cop, polar plunge, and other events such as torch runs in the state.
