JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - One person has been sent to the hospital after an auto-pedestrian accident on James Island Tuesday morning.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to an auto-pedestrian accident at the 1900 block of Maybank Highway at 8:30 a.m.
According to a news release by Maj. Eric Watson, the driver was waiting to turn from the James Island Cleaners parking lot onto Maybank Highway.
The driver saw an opening in traffic but did not see the pedestrian. The driver hit the pedestrian, causing the pedestrian to fall backward, hitting his head on the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital according to Watson.
