CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - New data released by the United States Census Bureau suggests that more people continue to move to South Carolina.
The Palmetto state grew by 64,547 people in the past year according to the statistics, a number which puts South Carolina at No. 10 in numeric growth from 2016 to 2017.
The total population of the state is now 5,024,369, up from 4,625,381 in 2010, an 8.6 percent jump. The data was collected from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017.
The bureau says the population of the United States is now 325,719,178.
