Investigators say an argument between two passengers in two different cars led to a gun battle in North Charleston.
Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say it happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Deputies were in the area of Rivers Avenue near Remount Road when they reported seeing a male passenger of a gray Nissan Armada arguing with a male passenger of a black Pontiac G6.
A report states the deputies then saw the passengers take out guns and start shooting at each other.
"Deputies conducted a traffic stop on both vehicles on Stokes Avenue in North Charleston," CCSO officials said.
The sheriff's office said the subjects were detained and detectives were called to the scene to investigate the matter.
"No occupants in either vehicle were struck by gunfire," states a report by the sheriff's office."Also no nearby motorists or pedestrians were injured as a result of the gunfire exchange."
The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.
