NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The Washington Capitals announced Wednesday that goaltender Adam Carlson has been recalled from the South Carolina Stingrays hockey team.

The 23-year-old netminder has appeared in six games for the Stingrays this season, posting a record of 1-1-1 with a goals against average of 2.80. He has also suited up for four games in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears, earning a 2-2-0 record with a goals against average of 3.03 and a save percentage at 0.903.

During Carlson's rookie season in 2016-17, he played in 23 games for South Carolina and had a GAA of 2.97 along with a save percentage at 0.895.

South Carolina returns to action on Friday night when they host the Orlando Solar Bears at the North Charleston Coliseum. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
