Atlanta airport offers flight to Wakanda

ATLANTA, GA (RNN) - Want to go to Wakanda? You’ll have to travel to Atlanta first.

With tongue firmly planted in cheek, the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport tweeted a photo Monday evening of a sign showing a flight to the fictional African nation of Wakanda.

The country has risen in popularity thanks to the blockbuster hit "Black Panther." The movie smashed box office records by bringing in $241.9 million in the long opening weekend, the most of any movie to debut on Presidents Day Weekend.

Wakanda is a technologically advanced, yet isolated country hidden deep in Africa. It’s ruled by King T’Challa, aka Black Panther.

Lupita Nyong’o, who portrays T’Challa’s love interest, Nakia, in the film, decided to chime in on the airport’s tweet. She asked about the entertainment options on the flight and gave a few punny suggestions.

The airport responded with a few puns of their own.

Many parts of the movie were actually filmed in Atlanta.
