Charleston Co. schools to review emergency plan

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County School District says it will perform a review of its emergency plan in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Florida.

The district is sending out notes, and phone messages to parents regarding security at district schools.

This comes one week after 17 people were shot and killed in a school shooting in Florida.

A memo from CCSD Supt. Dr. Gerrita Postlewait to parents says the district will review its plan against the facts of the Florida shooting.

The Feb. 14 shooting left 17 dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. A former student was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder on Thursday.
