CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

One man has been charged after he fled a traffic stop and was apprehended near the Westmoreland Bridge.

A witness inside the Walmart in the 3900 block of West Ashley Circle said she saw Jermaine Lindsey, 45, take three grocery bags full of clothes, t-shirts and socks past the cash registers and toward the exit.

She approached Lindsey and he showed her a receipt which appeared old, but he proceeded to leave the store at which point she called the police.

An officer later executed a traffic stop on a vehicle similar to the one the witness described on I-526 eastbound. Lindsey fled police for a short time before he was apprehended.
