ST. STEPHEN, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County School District says an investigation into a threatening Facebook post found no credible threat against a St. Stephen-area high school.

"Administrators at Timberland High School have received reports of a post circulating on Facebook concerning the safety and security of Timberland High," a message provided to parents of Timberland students stated.

The message stated Berkeley County deputies are present on the campus as a precaution, "to ensure that our students and faculty feel safe and supported."

District spokesperson Katie Orvin Tanner confirmed Thursday morning the school is not on lockdown and there has not been a direct threat made to the school.

The school asked parents to encourage their children to report any concerns to their teachers and administrators.
