Porter-Gaud claims SCISA 3A state title; Goose Creek girls eliminated

(WCSC) - Porter-Gaud claimed their third straight SCISA 3A state title Saturday at the Sumter Civic Center. The Cyclones took down fellow Lowcountry foe First Baptist 80-63.

Yale commit Jake Lanford and Vanderbilt commit Aaron Nesmith both had 17 points for the Cyclones. First Baptist standout Michel Dukes had a game-high 22 points.

In girls basketball, Goose Creek will not repeat as 5A state champs. The Gators fell to Spring Valley 55-53 at the Florence Civic Center.
