Family-friendly Teddy Bear Picnic set for Sunday

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Teddy bears will take over Hampton Park as the Charleston Parks Conservancy hosts the ninth Teddy Bear Picnic Sunday.

It's from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm.

Families are invited to enjoy musical entertainment by John Cusatis, face painting, seed planting, crafts, a scavenger hunt and more.

You are invited to bring a picnic lunch, blankets and chairs to enjoy an afternoon in the park. Food trucks will have food available for purchase.

Dress your bear in his finest for the Bear fashion Show called Project Runway, Bear Style.Plus, the popular Teddy bear ER is back for "injured": bears needing treatment and well "bear" checkups.

This year, MUSC Children's Health is the official partner of the Teddy Bear ER.

Parker Bear will be back this year for photos and autographs. Parker is the star of "Here, There and Everywhere with Parker Bear," a children's book written by the Conservancy's volunteer Park Angels and photographed by Charleston photographer

Libby Williams. The book was released at the Teddy Bear Picnic last year and will be available for purchase this year.

The Charleston Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the people of Charleston to connect with their parks and work together to create stunning public places and a strong community.
