Charleston Wine and Food Festival kicks off with Opening Night Cocktail

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Morgan Hurley has won the competition for preparing an opening night cocktail for the Charleston Food and Wine Festival.

He has concocted what he calls a Noble Hospitality cocktail.

You can sip it on opening night tonight at the Culinary Village in Marion Square in downtown Charleston. Hurley is the Bar Director for Mex 1 restaurant. He beat out other bartenders in winning a chance to prepare his winning cocktail.

Opening night runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday with 35 participating chefs. Tickets are $150.

Forbes Traveler calls Charleston Wine and Food one of the top five food festivals in the world.
