Report: Charleston man encouraged minor to create, send sexually explicit images

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators say a Charleston man encouraged a minor to create and send sexually explicit images, and solicited a minor for sex.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of 30-year-old Caleb Lide Jordan on four charges connected to the exploitation of a minor.

"Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Jordan," said officials with the attorney's office.

According to a report, Jordan engaged in sexually explicit communication, encouraged a minor victim to create and send sexually explicit images, and solicited a minor for sex.

He was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of criminal solicitation of a minor.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.

The attorney general's office also released the following information on the arresting agencies:

Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.  Investigators with the Charleston Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations, both also members of the state's ICAC Task Force, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement assisted with this investigation.
